This extension runs entirely inside your browser. Optional account features (sign-in, favorites, download records, cloud storage) use our official backend server at https://amzvideohelper.top.
| Data | How it is processed |
|---|---|
| Login credentials (optional) | When you voluntarily sign in, your username and password are sent over HTTPS only to the official backend server at https://amzvideohelper.top. Your password is stored solely as a secure one-way hash that cannot be reversed; the login token is kept in your browser's local storage. |
| Amazon page content | While you browse Amazon, the extension scans page HTML and network requests in local memory only to locate video URLs (HLS playlists/segments and direct MP4 links). This data is never uploaded anywhere and is discarded when the tab closes. |
| Downloaded videos | Video streams (HLS segments or MP4 files) are fetched directly from the Amazon CDN by your browser and saved as an MP4 file to your local Downloads folder. We never obtain, copy, or retain your downloads. Sole exception: to support the optional "Save to Cloud" feature, the most recently merged video is held temporarily in browser memory only until your next download starts or the browser closes; it is never written to disk by the extension and is used only when you actively choose to upload it. |
| Cloud-saved videos (optional) | If you voluntarily use "Save to Cloud", the file is uploaded to the official backend server (amzvideohelper.top). Metadata (video ID, filename, size, timestamps, and the URL of the Amazon page the video was found on) is stored there for your account. |
All network communication uses HTTPS (the only exception is local debugging addresses such as http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1, which never leave your machine). The backend server is operated by us with TLS in transit, hashed passwords and access control. You may sign out or remove the extension at any time to delete all locally stored data.
The extension is not directed to children under 13 (16 in the EU/EEA) and does not knowingly collect their data.
Material changes will be announced via extension update notes or the store listing page.
We collect, use, and disclose your personal data only for the purposes stated in Section 1, and only with your consent (given when you voluntarily use the extension's features), or as otherwise permitted under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012. You may withdraw consent at any time by signing out, disabling the relevant feature, or removing the extension.
This extension makes no cross-border transfers itself. If you use the login/cloud features, data is transferred to the server you configured; you are responsible for ensuring that the recipient provides a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA.
